Background

Dr Sassan Dieter Khatib-Shahidi is the Founder & CEO of German Imaging Technologies (GIT) Dubai (1999) and East Africa (2016). He served as Executive Director on the Board of the company for 7 years. He has been on the Board of Directors of the Entrepreneurs Organization, UAE Chapter, for 3 years before taking on the Presidency of the Chapter for the financial year 2023/2024. In addition, he acts as Patron to the NGO, Youths for Green Action Kenya, a non-profit organization engaged in environmental preservation.

Leading GIT since inception in late 1999, Dr Khatib-Shahidi has grown the document printing solutions company across the region and expanded internationally to Kenya back in 2016. GIT helps with its remanufactured printers, toners, service and maintenance as well as software offerings its clients to save on average a minimum of 30% versus their current OEM spent.

In April 2015 he was selected as an Endeavor High-Impact Entrepreneur and became a member of the Entrepreneurs Organization, EO UAE. GIT was listed in all three rankings of the Dubai Top 100 SMEs and listed as No 1 in Corporate Governance. The company has one many awards and accolades, among other Best Technology Company, Best Brands in Asia, and Business of the Year.

Prior to joining GIT, Dr Khatib-Shahidi was Attorney At Law for five years at Heuking, Kuehn, Luer, Kunz, and Wojtek, one of Germany's top-ten city law firms. He has also often been the source of legal and expert opinion on Middle Eastern laws on banking, arbitration, and investments. He has drawn on this expertise in his time spent studying, living and working in Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Dr Khatib-Shahidi obtained his law degree (1993) and doctorate (1996) (magna cum laude) from the University of Konstanz, Germany and was a Senior Associate Member of St Antony's College, University of Oxford, UK.
